Goodbye traffic jams: A Concept for the LISA Corridor East.

Goodbye traffic jams: A Concept for the LISA Corridor East. It’s best to avoid traffic congestion on motorways with a wide detour. LISA (trans-province information and strategy management) makes this possible. The VMZ developed a framework which now informs LISA for wide stretches of Eastern Germany. Based on our in-house procedure for network-wide strategic planning, the concept defines detour strategies and makes prognoses for technical and organizational implementation.

Traffic Modelling

Forecasts cannot be measured. Traffic models reproduce decisions made by users, as they are to be expected in particular under changing conditions (e.g. growth of the city). With the help of transport modelling, the decision-makers can check the effects of various transport policy measures ex ante on the basis of transport models and make precise decisions based on these (e.g. shortening the intervals between trains).

Transportation Solutions for Big Events.

The success of an event begins with visitors’ arrival. The VMZ creates intermodal transportation concepts for your large event and guides you in implementing them: We determine daily time-based demand for public transport and traffic volumes, determine the modal split, simulate the traffic distribution and check capacities. On this basis we then plan arrival and departure routes, determine the demand for bus and car parking spots, and develop transportation organization and infrastructure measures. On request we also provide evaluation and recommendations for further improvement for the next event.
