All mobility information from one source - With the project püa partner HaCon, the VMZ was able to prevail in a Europe-wide tender for the establishment of a multimodal information platform for Luxembourg. The VMZ is in charge of the overall project management and provides additional components for route monitoring and an application for managing traffic messages.

If you want to steer your event traffic flow, DESTINATION MOBILE shows visitors connections to and from the event site: bus, train, sharing services, taxis, and more in one view! A map of the surrounding area helps visitors find their way to and from their transportation choice, and departure tables show upcoming options. Event visitors truly value these services at the event site.

Intermodal Route Planner

The VMZ’s route planner calculates the best path – according to the criterion of your choice: duration, distance, cost or environmental cost (CO2 emissions). This production-tested module for apps and info systems can be individualized at the project level. Upon request we will include external routing data from sources like Google and TomTom.

Info services on mobility alternatives are most useful for the user when they link as many possible offerings from diverse providers in real-time. Like the well-tested platform by VMZ. We integrate data from many different sources in our API: Carsharing, bikesharing, e-scootersharing, car charging stations, long-distance buses, taxis, ridesharing organizers and other services. A further advantage: we already integrated important, Germany-wide providers.

Green Wave by App

With Siemens’ Sitraffic SiBike, cities and municipalities make urban cycling attractive in a cost-efficient way. VMZ developed the app that makes it possible. Using the cyclist’s smartphone GPS data, it grants right of way to the cyclist at intersections – the SiBike app has already signaled his upcoming arrival 60 meters beforehand.

Seven displays give employees and visitors at SIEMENS location Berlin-Spandau all transportation options at a glance: They can find out about the traffic situation on Berlin’s streets, construction sites and disruptions, public transport departure times, walking routes to nearby stations and carsharing options.

Mobility Information Schönefeld Airport

Travelers arriving at Schönefeld Airport can quickly orient themselves because of 7 displays helping them find their way. In the arrival termial D2 monitors inform about public transportation, current traffic conditions, car sharing options and through a ticker with transportation disruptions. VMZ realized and administers the displays on behalf of FBB Berlin Brandenburg Airports.

All transportation information for Berlin in real-time on your smartphone: The VMZ-developed free App BerlinMobil offers this and more. It also has a personal route planner: Users can decide if they want to arrive quickly, cheaply, or in an environmentally-friendly way.

At Duisburg Port truck drivers can find their way to the right dock every time. Helping them is a Smartphone App developed by VMZ and Siemens. It provides drivers, logistics providers and the terminal operator with GPS-based dynamic data on travel times, routes and destinations, even in the case that times and routes become modified.

Virtual Infopanels in Braunschweig

In a mobile city, traffic information panels are no longer stationary: In Braunschweig the VMZ replaced two real panels with virtual ones in a pilot project for the municipal provider BELLIS. Data came from a Scala/Concert system. An app brings the information to the user’s smartphone as soon as he crosses geofencing triggerlines.

Frankfurt Airport is well-connected: there are many ways to continue travel after landing. Six digital info panels developed and managed by the VMZ for Fraport AG show all ground connections: long-distance and regional trains, long-distance and city buses, carsharing and bikesharing services and even current travel times on surrounding highways.

DESTINATION MOBILE has proven itself outside of Berlin, too. Two displays, one for individual transport, the other for public transport, demonstrate this at SIEMENS’ Munich offices for Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS). Data on the traffic situation doesn’t come from the Traffic Information Center Berlin but from a local provider integrated by the VMZ.

Upcoming Connections Information for Berlin Chamber of Commerce Visitors can see how much DESTINATION MOBILE has to offer at the Ludwig-Erhard-House in Berlin. For the Berlin Chamber of Commerce offices, the VMZ integrated information on upcoming departures into an existing CMS so it could be embedded into the Chamber’s event information service. This solution is hosted on the customer’s own server hardware.

SIEMENS informs visitors at its Berlin offices in real-time on their connection options. Monitors at each of three exits and an outdoor display on the way to the parking lot show the way to transportation options. The VMZ developed the system, acquired hardware, installed all components, and manages the monitors.

Travelers arriving at Berlin’s Tegel Airport can quickly orient themselves on the ground thanks to 18 displays helping them find their way. At baggage claims, bus bays, and rental car centers the monitors show maps of current traffic conditions, public transport departures, and a ticker with transportation disruptions. VMZ administers the displays on behalf of FFB Berlin Brandenburg Airports.
